This is our most vulnerable lecture-performance yet! It's a short night of a long love story that navigates fifteen years, three continents, and multiple--some invented--philosophies, titled 'you really got me now'.
About
In the guise of a fictional interrogation interview at the home office, we try and prove our claim to love. We use a chronologically ordered display of official documents, intimate memorabilia and accidental, digital traces to recount, remember and reinvent their common past.
In a time of the intensification of borders, this piece is eerily urgent: it’s about truth and the false systems that validate it, it’s about a government’s surveillance of intimacy, about the effect of changing technologies on romance, and about the difficulty of making art in the face of austerity and the necessity of continuing to do so as a way of resistance.
