About

Come and join Charlie Waite, one of the worlds leading landscape photographers on a superb day of landscape photography.

We will begin the day at 10am with an illustrated talk of 90 minutes followed by a question and answer session.

The talk will consist of projecting  over 80 landscape images made from all over the world during Waite’s 35 years of photography.

Within the talk there will be many references to how images are constructed and the problems encountered.

There will be limited technical discussion and more on the  aesthetics of balance, relationships, pattern, design and composition.

In the afternoon, there will be a three hour workshop held in the St James's Park area and here Charlie will continue along the themes discussed in the morning talk.

Assistance will be given to all participants and all levels of ability are welcome. There will be ‘in the field’ help with why filters are useful and technical information shared with all about exposure. In addition the essential of composition will be thoroughly investigated.

Suggested list of equipment:

  • A hat…August.
  • I digital or film camera.
  • Lenses from 20mm to 200mm.
  • I tripod ideally with a pan and tilt mechanism
  • Polarising filter
  • Neutral Density graduated filters.
