Join us on Sat 21st May for the launch of LANDSCAPE IMAGINARY, an exhibition and weekend of events on Mersea Island presenting the work of artist Daniel & Clara.

Responding to the psychological impact of the global pandemic and the physical restrictions of lockdown, Daniel & Clara created a series of 100 short videos in the landscapes of Mersea Island, where they unexpectedly found themselves living due to the pandemic. Filmed during their permitted 1 hour daily walks, this project captures moments of deep engagement with the landscapes and weather through that strange year when we all found ourselves confined to our local environments.

Drop in to East Mersea Village Hall over the weekend to see an exhibition of On The Island, and join us on Sat 21st at 1pm to meet the artist and find out more about this project.

The exhibition will be accompanied by a screening of films by Ben Rivers, Seán Vicary and Toby Tatum, plus children’s workshops and the publication of Landscape Imaginary, the first comprehensive book on the work of Daniel & Clara.
