Parking up at this year's Flatpack Festival is Laura Irving’s new interactive installation Lambda Drive.
Strap in to the front seat, put on your headphones and immerse yourself in this short sensory road trip. Inspired to recreate the hypnotic experience of listening to patchy American radio on long journeys through the middle of nowhere, Laura Irving has created a space in which your imagination can take the wheel and experience “all the fun and weird characters of a road trip, without the need for creepy rest-stops and burning tonnes of fossil fuel."
Described by the Guardian newspaper as ‘the most open-minded festival in the UK’, Birmingham’s Flatpack Festival returns this May Day Bank Holiday (30 April – 5 May 2019) for its thirteenth edition. Flatpack 2019 boasts a wonderfully eclectic line-up over the 6-day festival with 100 events taking place at 14 different venues across Birmingham. https://flatpackfestival.org.uk
