British artist Emily Forgot is enlivening the City of London at Citypoint with three colourful kiosks, inspiring optimism and playfulness after lockdown.
About
The three kiosks bring friends and colleagues back together again, while also facilitating socially distanced seating.
They’re at the perfect location to enjoy some local food, available at various locations across the Square Mile. This includes food trucks at Citypoint, and various coffee shops and (new) restaurants such as Notes, The Refinery (Citypoint), Watchhouse Coffee (Bishopsgate), Black Sheep Coffee and Shaman Coffee (Aldgate Tower), Barbie Green (London Wall Place) and The Light Bar, The Allegory, Polu Poke, Little Farm, Camino and Vagabond, which is opening late June (all at Principal Place).
The installation forms a powerful contrast with the monochrome buildings in the area, aiming to inspire optimism and playfulness after lockdown. It was commissioned by leading global developer and manager Brookfield Properties to celebrate creativity and bring people back together in its spaces.
This is the second installation by Emily Forgot, following Bricolage at Principal Place, also commissioned by Brookfield Properties. Bricolage, which opened earlier in June, is a seating installation with various forms and colours that resemble building blocks, made of sprayed Tricoya and metal.
Emily Forgot is a London based designer whose multidisciplinary practice encompasses art, design & illustration for a diverse range of international clients such as The V&A, Somerset House, The Mondrian hotel, Selfridges, Herman Miller & Absolut.
"I would like people to come together and enjoy my installations feeling excited and free, discovering interesting ways to take a seat and socialise."
