JULIA SPÍNOLA's site specific project for the SCAN Project Room as the culmination of the SCAN_AR six week residency in London.

About

SCAN (Spanish Contemporary Art Network) is pleased to announce the opening of JULIA SPÍNOLA’s first solo exhibition in the UK, a site specific project conceived and produced during her six week residency in London for the SCAN Project Room.

JULIA SPÍNOLA (Madrid-1979) lives and works in Madrid, Spain. She has received several grants and awards such as the Marcelino Botín Visual Arts grant and RNE’s ‘El Ojo Crítico’ award both in 2013; She was selected for Generaciones in 2013 by the Fundación Montemadrid and was awarded the Comunidad de Madrid acquisition prize at ARCO 2017.
She has exhibited internationally in solo and group shows such as ́Cien Rostros Iguales ́, etHALL, Barcelona (2016/17); ́Roca ́ with ...David Bestué, Halfhouse, Barcelona (2016); ́Âo túnel-cabo pelo braço ́, Kunsthalle Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo (2015); ́Hablo, sabiendo que no se trata de eso ́ CaixaForum, Barcelona; ́9a Biennal dart Leandre Cristòfol ́ La Panera, Lleida (2015); ́Stiff hip gait ́ con Alex Reynolds, Komplot, Brussels (2015); ́Uno zurdo y uno diestro, y uno zurdo y uno diestro ́, Galería Heinrich Ehrhardt, Madrid (2014), among others.
Her work is included in private and public collections and museums such as Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS); Fundación Marcelino Botín; Colección de Arte Comunidad de Madrid/CA2M; Centro de Arte La Panera y Fundación Montemadrid/La Casa Encendida, Madrid.
At the beginning of 2018, she will present a solo show in Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, Madrid.
