Jon Edgar Sculpture

Working within the same tradition as artists like Eric Gill, Jacob Epstein and Henri Gaudier- Brzeska, Jon Edgar is a Frink School trained sculptor, now based in West Sussex. Warm direct carvings in wood and stone contrast with closely observed terracotta portraits of eminent sitters. Jon's influences come from medival artists as well as the veteran sculptor and teacher Alan Thornhill, whose methods dispense with the pre-conceived. This exhibition of over 35 tactile works extends beyond the garden to all around the museum and art gallery.
