John Lowrie Morrison OBE, who paints under the nom de plume ‘Jolomo’ is one of Scotland’s most popular and successful artists. His brightly coloured landscapes featuring crofts or beaches painted at dawn or dusk, are a window in to that landscape.
About
This exhibition includes over 60 striking new paintings depicting the ever-changing light and colour of the west coast of Scotland. John’s expressionist style and vivid high key colour draws on the exceptional colour the west coast of Scotland has to offer in its stunning and rugged landscapes.
John paints the things that are romantic about the west coast, the crofts, the hills and the sea. There is a focus on the things that go back to the time of his youth and people want that style of work to revisit the beauty of that landscape. I remember seeing one of John’s paintings on the end wall of a dark hallway, it was like a window into a sunny day.
Corrymella Scott Gallery is proud to bring John back to the North East in his latest exhibition.
