Jolomo - John Lowrie Morrison Exhibition May 2013

About

Scottish artist John Lowrie Morrison OBE ' Jolomo ' brings the true colours of Scotland to London in the 12th Jolomo London Exhibition presented by Corrymella Scott Gallery. This exhibition includes striking new pictures executed with strong, emotive colour and fluent brushwork depicting the exceptional changing light and colour of the west coast of Scotland including Mull, Iona, Tiree, Colonsay, Kintyre, Mull, Gigha and Iona, where Jolomo continues the long established tradition of Scottish artists including the Scottish Colourists S.J. Peploe and F.C.B. Cadell who were drawn back year after year by the beauty and power of this landscape and found it a particular source of inspiration. Also included are vibrant still life paintings and superbly executed paintings and drawings of some of the famous Scottish Lighthouses including Hoy, Cape Wrath, Dubh Artach, Cloch Light, Skerryvore and Buchan Ness. John Lowrie Morrison, the Scottish painter who signs himself Jolomo lives and works on the west coast of Scotland. He paints in the expressionsist style, his work features vivid, high key colour, is vibrant and conveys a real sense of spontaneity. He has become something of a phenomenon, his shows have been sell-outs and he has attracted a truly international following, in demand from both individual collectors and corporations alike.
