The medium of the work in this exhibition is oil on canvas. John's work is unfailingly based upon the seen world -re-thought and recycled until it's in his own personally approved condition. His inspirations come from within and as "it is a need that you feed!" Most of this exhibitions work has been made within the last 12 months, when he switched attention from landscapes that came from a prolonged study of the almost hidden and almost untouched network of North Norfolk's drovers' roads, and became absorbed in what STREETS looked like. Streets in small towns, architectural with suggestions of figures thronging them. Suddenly signs, lorries and cars; shopfronts loom daily now as my inspiration; part of the 'everyday'.
John graduated from Harrogate School of Art in the 60's with a Fine Art Degree.
