About

John Maltby is a highly respected and collected artist with a career spanning 50 years. Having studied sculpture at Goldsmith's in London, he progressed to working with David Leach in the tradition of Anglo-Oriental style. Since then his work has developed from functional pottery into the making of unique, sculptural pieces. John's work is inspired by the English landscape and myths and legends with figures such as Kings and Queens appearing frequently. John Maltby's ceramics can be seen in numerous public collections, including Aberystwyth, Belfast, Exeter and the V&A. He has also exhibited in Europe and USA.
