About
This summer 18 jesters from around the world spent two weeks together at Laumulistasamsteypan residency, an annual summer camp on the island of Hrisey, Iceland. There was no work, they got straight to playing, devising games to structure artist collaboration and co-habitation, and to generate new artworks.
Orbiting around suns previously unknown to one another’s artistic practices, they shifted their weight temporarily, giving all their attention and energy to the mission at hand and the riddles on the table – an off-balance aura here, a new hairstyle for one jester there…
Returning to earth for Art Licks 2019, Middlesex Presents… Jesters at the round table is an outcome for the 2019 iteration of Laumulistasamsteypan residency, and an invitation to London-based fools and sages to come and play.
