As part of Connect10, a national scheme to position leading artists in public venues across the UK for Museums at Night, artist Jessica Voorsanger presents The Final Frontier, a unique one-night-only art event featuring Sci-fi Karaoke, Trouble with Tribbles, Men in Black Parade and much more.
Have your photo taken in our alien landscape movie set, draw a stormtrooper in our special life-drawing sessions or relax in our bar inspired by some of our favourite drinking holes from sci-fi film history, serving authentic alien food, snacks and drinks.
Come dressed as your favourite character, or make your own outfits when you get to the event. Men-in-Black Parade (accompanied by band) begins at the western end of the High Street at 5pm. Drop into the event at 20-21 from 5.50pm until late.
Jessica Voorsanger is a multimedia artist who explores popular culture, in particular 'celebrity', through obsession, fans and media representation; using a range of media, including painting, photography, performance and film.
Connect10 is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Museums at Night is the annual after-hours festival of arts, culture and heritage when hundreds of museums, galleries, libraries, archives and heritage sites open their doors for special evening events. It takes place over the weekend of Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 May 2014.
