About
Jerwood Drawing Prize provides a platform to showcase the work of UK-based drawing practitioners, from student to established, and as a project helps to define a wider understanding of the role and value of drawing in creative practice.
The Edge is delighted to be hosting Jerwood Drawing Prize for the second year, with works by 65 artists selected from 2811 submissions from across the UK. This years exhibition includes hand drawn, digital and three-dimensional works selected for inclusion by Dr David Dibosa, writer, researcher and Reader in Museology at the University of the Arts London, Helen Legg, Director of Spike Island and artist Michael Simpson.
The Prize is committed to championing excellence, and to promoting and celebrating the breadth of contemporary drawing practice. In offering emerging, mid-career and established artists a national platform to exhibit their work, the exhibition has established a reputation for developing new insights into the role and value of drawing in creative practice today.
