The Student Forum would like to invite you to the launch of Collective Body, a publication of poetry, sound works, essays, blog posts, photography, malware and film celebrating a year of working as a collective and non-hierarchical body within the ICA.
About
Since January 2017, the ICA Student Forum has actively contributed to the ICA's public programme by curating talks, events and workshops, undertaking ICA Instagram takeovers and commissioning blog submissions. The Student Forum would like to invite you to the launch of Collective Body, a publication of poetry, sound works, essays, blog posts, photography, malware and film celebrating a year of working as a collective and non-hierarchical body within the ICA.
There are no plans for the Student Forum to continue into 2018 in its current form, so we the Student Forum take this as an opportunity to reflect on the institute's principles of community and collectivised decision-making within the framework of institutional critique. IS THIS THE END? Come and mourn the end of this programme with us at the ICA Student Forum Funeral!
The 'funeral' encompasses live DJ sets curated by Leila Nassereldein, Weronika Garczyk and Johanna Hardt featuring Hel, k28 and MX World with visuals by Ru Pert, alongside a collaborative performance set around an extravagant funeral celebration, where you are invited to come and decide whether this is a celebration of death or rebirth. From the ashes, a new dynamic will emerge, shaped by the participation of community. Collective Body is being released as the last physical trace of the ICA's 2017 Student Forum.
