Take a look inside, with Store Street Gallery's new exhibition ‘Inside Life' 29th November-15th January, featuring a collection of paintings, textiles and sculpture which explore the hidden world of interiors. Artist Jo Oakley celebrates the familiar objects of her childhood with beautiful paintings of old dressers, treasured tea sets and kitchen items full of nostalgia. Sasha Bowles also explores the narrative of everyday life; her bustling paintings of domestic scenes depict intriguing characters and family relationships. Fusing many styles is Bristol based artist Kate Talbot. Her fun and quirky pop art creations combine mixed media and embroidery, turning textiles into items of modern day culture and consumerism. Also displayed, are Alison Rankin's sensual paintings of still-life's and glistening pomegranates. Often painting a single oversized fruit, Rankin elevates the mere domestic to iconic status.
