‘In Progress’ is a show by a collective of UK based visual artists exploring the connection between art and mental health and aims to encourage viewers to open up a dialogue on the theme. The show will range from live performance to work on paper and the work shown will inform an exhibition next year around a similar concept.
SANGEETA BHAGAWATI
London based printmaker, Sangeeta Bhagawati, has been working on linoprint, etching and mono print techniques for the last five years. Born and brought up in Assam, India, Sangeeta's cultural influences have largely shaped her printmaking practice. She uses her art as a way to explore, and belong to, her roots. Her original prints are included in artist collectives like Skylark Galleries, London. IG: @_amoort_ Twitter: @sangeeta771
JENNI BEA
I am a conceptual artist using visual language to express thoughts and emotions around a range of topics – usually with autobiographical content. The creative process & physical outcome provide a therapeutic release & visual journal. My style is experimental & diverse – a reflection of my chaotic thought processes. My aim is not to produce traditionally aesthetic imagery, but to communicate, inspire, challenge thinking & create discussion. www.jenni-bea.com IG: @jenni_bea
NIKOLLAH
Nikollah is a French artist based in London.
Through the majority of his paintings, Nikollah is trying to paint his people; sometime himself, but more generally his belief in humanity. As a young artist, his style is not yet totally defined and he still loves to explore different way to express his feelings. www.nikollah.com
LAURA GREENWAY
A recent graduate from an MA in Fine Art, Laura Greenway is a multidisciplinary performance artist whose work focuses on her own experiences of mental illness. Utilising the body as a tool of communication, Laura’s work explores themes of intimacy and vulnerability, examining the relationship and dynamics between audience and performer. She additionally experiments with text-based performance, employing techniques such as automatic writing to create unique pieces that explore the topic of intrusive thoughts, a common symptom of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Sub themes of repetition and the absurd also emerge, providing analysis of the often-nonsensical nature of mental illness.IG: @lauragreenwayartist Twitter: @laurag_artist Facebook: Laura Greenway Art www.lauragreenwayart.com

OLIVIA THYNNE
Olivia is a dancer and uses this practise to inform her collage work. She is inspired by daydreams and the feeling of freedom, often using images of the natural world and of dancers, in vaguely surreal, dream like compositions.
