About
Breathing Space are a London based five piece collective. Our practice uses techniques of improvisation, deep listening, assemblage, voice, field recordings and experimental instrumentation. They create site specific performances exploring architectural acoustics, uncovering the social and physical resonances to shape content and form. Working outside the traditional performance space they re-imagine place, adding new memory to sites, often encountering unsuspecting audiences. An improvisation workshop sharing our working practice, exploring a site in preparation for performance using a variety of techniques. Discover techniques for improvising and experimenting with sound using your voice and found objects, using sound to explore space and create instant work with others. The session is open to all regardless of musical experience.
