IMMORTAL by Warren Du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones, a series of collaborative artworks and large photographic prints, with a Limited edition handcrafted lithographic boxset and the premiere of NOTGET their VR video NOTGET with Bjork

About

The exhibition IMMORTAL represents a beautiful mythology of distorted reality where past, present and future lie together unbound in a collection of myths and dreams. The work of IMMORTAL exists in a profoundly sensual realm suspended between abstraction and surrealist fantasy, infused with classical beauty and inspired by neo-futurism. using a subtle alchemy, Warren and Nick artfully create an intangible state in which their muses and sirens exist.

Acclaimed for their experimental approach and unique inventive use of light and colour, Warren and Nick shape and craft artworks laced with mystery and the erotic, that draw on classic futurism and evoke a stellar otherworldly existence, which delicately arouses the senses.

Renowned for their experimental and ground breaking exploration within the photographic medium and a multi-disciplinary approach to installation and film, W&N create work that combines surrealist fantasy, mythology and symbolism that challenges the boundaries of beauty and the abstract. Their vision explores the realms between the conscious and subconscious and the space between dreams and reality.

Warren Du Preez, who was born in Johannesburg, and Nick Thornton Jones, who is from liverpool have collaborated as artists since 1998. Their work was recently included in Daydreaming With Stanley Kubrick at london’s somerset House, and the video Notget VR opened the Day for Night festival in Houston, Texas, usa. Their images can be seen at london’s lazarides rathbone gallery in the exhibition Daydreaming with UNKLE Presents... THE ROAD: SOHO until 23 February 2017.
