About

Valerie ZinnerĀ is a Ph.D. candidate in Japanese Art History of Columbia University. Her research focuses on early modern illustrated narratives (particularly those of the Sumiyoshi School) and their relationship to the way in which the Edo Period engaged with class and history. She received her M.A. from Harvard University in 2014.
