We have pleasure in inviting you to an exhibition of works from an Icon Painting School in Krakow, Poland.
About
Beauty, Art, Life
The variety of subjects and the number of works should make this an interesting and multifarious exhibition. The timeless classical beauty, which icons express, continues to be relevant today. Harmonies in the lines and in the compositions create an inner peace. This reminds us that it is through Art that we can heal the soul. Dostoyevsky once wrote that, "Art will redeem the world". "I believe this wholeheartedly", says Anna Gelbon, founder of this Polish icon painting school. She herself is an artist, art historian, as well as professional icon painter. Teaching icon painting over the years, she observes with both interest and joy, that not only do students improve their artistic skills but that they also develop their inner lives. She has come to the conclusion that icon painting opens the way to a contemplative spiritual journey.
We invite you to this exhibition to discover icons and hope that this will be the beginning of a deep and transformational journey, as well as an inspiration for further researches. During the exhibition there will be a rare opportunity not only to buy a hand painted icon but also to participate in a workshop (dates and price on application) during the exhibition.
