As part of the Holt Summer Festival (21st-27th July), we are delighted to be showing functional domestic ware by British studio potter Walter Keeler.
About
A potter of international recognition, Walter has been working in clay for over 50 years and during that time his work has ranged from stoneware and raku to earthenware. Walter has a reputation for being an innovative potter and is perhaps best known for his experimentation with the “oil can” form with interesting, varied salt glaze effects.
Alongside larger ‘sculptural’ pieces, there will be approximately 40 pieces of functional domestic ware on display ranging from cups and mugs to jugs and teapots being a mixture of salt glazed stoneware and earthenware.
Walter will also be speaking at the gallery as part of the Festival’s ‘Art Talks’ on Monday 22nd July 11am. Please email to book as spaces are limited.
To complement the exhibition, we will be showing selected paintings and prints.
