About

Hunt Slonem is an internationally recognized American painter, sculptor and printmaker. He exhibits regularly in public and private institutions around the world. His work has been exhibited in more than 350 galleries and museums worldwide and is represented in over one hundred museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. Hunt has received numerous honors and awards, including a MacDowell Fellowship and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Hunt Slonem lives alternately in New York City and Louisiana. He is known for the restoration of two historic buildings: the Albania Mansion and the Lakeside Mansion.

Hunt Slonem's artwork combines sublime decoration with a profound spiritual quality. His works depict vibrant colors, exotic birds, animals, saints and even Hollywood stars. While celebrating the splendor of life, his art also points to the dangers that modern society brings to the environment. Slonem's canvases are designed to captivate the eye of the viewer, encouraging them to constantly move and take in the work in its entirety.

Slonem's characteristic element in his artworks are the hares. Since the 1980s, when he discovered that he was born in the Chinese Year of the Rabbit (1951), he has been creating his "rabbit paintings". Nowadays, he refers to them as his "daily warm-up exercises". Every morning he paints a rabbit on a small panel, inserts it into an antique frame and places it on the "rabbit wall" in his studio.

If you spend some time with Hunt Slonem's artwork, it becomes clear how seriously he approaches painting. The techniques he uses to divide and render space create a sense of coherence within the work, and his consistent engagement with post-cubist abstraction is evident. Slonem's ability to vary the moods and techniques in his work in new and exciting ways results in beautiful works that continue to surprise and delight the viewer.

FRANK FLUEGEL GALERIE, with locations in Nuremberg and Kitzbuehel, has focused on high-quality originals of Pop Art, Street Art and contemporary art for over twenty years.

The art collector will find original artworks, prints and unique pieces by Adam Handler, Alex Katz, David Shrigley, Kenny Scharf, Hunt Slonem, Orit Fuchs, Nathan Paddison, Fanny Brodar, Mel Ramos, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol and Julian Opie at realistic prices. But editions and prints by Harland Miller, Katherine Bernhardt, Tom Wesselmann, Sean Scully, Gerhard Richter, Ross Bleckner, Allen Jones, Thomas Ruff, Mel Bochner, David Gerstein, Peter Doig, Jeff Koons, Tracey Emin, Raqib Shaw, Derrick Adams and Robert Longo are also on sale.

Other popular street artists are also represented in the gallery, such as Mr. Brainwash (Thierry Guetta), XOOOOX, Punk Me Tender, BAMBI, Fringe South Africa, Max Mavior and John Crash Matos.

Of course, the gallery also has design objects by Maurizio Cattelan, Paul Smith, Richard Orlinski, Philippe Starck and Pierre Jeanerette for sale.

Exhibitions are held at regular intervals in the centrally located gallery spaces in Nuremberg and Kitzbuehel. Collectors can buy works of art around the clock in the online store. International trade fair participations and solo shows round off the program.

Collectors can buy many of the artworks on offer immediately and take them with them, as they are in stock. For some artists, rising prices are to be expected due to the high demand. Works can rise in price (this development in value is very desirable for the investor) and old prices can lose their validity.
