The work in this collection is a series of small oil paintings and drawings of the Cornish landscape made in the last year.
About
Concentrating on the amorphous nature of the landscape and seascape Hannah walks a line between abstract and figurative representations, trying to capture the effects of changing light and weather. The paintings are worked up in layers whilst trying to retain the spontaneity of paint gestures and allowing a sense of the place to emerge. Standing alone in front of the landscape is one of her biggest joys and she hope to recreate that sense of isolated engagement in these pictures.
