GETXOPHOTO is a festival dedicated to image that takes place in Getxo (Spain) during September for the last 15 years. It brings different proposals from photographers and visual storytellers from all over the world to the city, setting a contemporary conversation about the theme proposed each year.

About

GETXOPHOTO inhabits the public space and continues supporting the use of formats, stands and unconventional exhibition spaces to show the different images. Its main objectives remain the same since its inception: propose a dialogue
on issues of general interest that affect us as citizens, recover urban spaces
for cultural uses, or deepen the exploration of unconventional formats,
supports and exhibition spaces with rigorous international programming.

The Festival will celebrate its 15th year edition following an impressive artistic trajectory showcasing critically acclaimed photographers including Alessandra Sanguinetti; Martin Kollar; Martin Parr; Martin Schoeller; Nadav Kander; Naomi Harris; Phil Toledano; Juno Calypso; Marcos López; Ricardo Cases; Joy Buolamwini; Wang Qingsong; Roger Ballen; Cristina De Middel; Thomas Mailaender; Vincent Fournier; Pieter Hugo; Maija Tami; Jacques-Henri Lartigue; Paul Fusco; Simon Norfolk; Zanele Muholi; Yann Gross; Mentalgassi; Ilyes Griyeb; Randa Maroufi or Michael Wolf, among many others, in approximately 20 annual exhibitions and under the curatorial vision of Alejandro Castellote, Frank Kalero, Christian Cajoulle, Monica Allende and Jon Uriarte.
