- Rinus Van Alebeek Sonic Franchising Jeff Surak
Girls on Tape is a collaborative moment that is hurled into existence by Jeff Surak and Rinus Van Alebeek. The duo provides sounds of various lo-fi origins as a frame for a show that opens up for elements of surprise, that will fill in the empty spaces. Anything can happen as soon as Pandora's sonic box will be opened. But what happens if Jeff Surak is supposed to play a show and Rinus Van Alebeek shows up? Does it turn Girls on Tape into a conceptual unit? The problem becomes more complicated. Girls on Tape were never supposed to show up. What happened to Jeff Surak then? Did he ever exist? The show by 'Jeff Surak' is a discourse on 'The Disguised Other' and raises questions about identity, imposterism, fake accounts and erased messages.
