About
Parallel to the special exhibition "Through a Glass, Clearly" by Sebastian Burger and Stefan Guggisberg, parts of the Hildebrand Collection will be rearranged at G2 Kunsthalle. Besides new acquisitions by Neo Rauch, David Schnell and Uwe Kowski, different media art works from the private collection by, among others, Björn Dahlem, Marcel Dzama, Jens Einhorn, Grit Hachmeister, Gregor Hildebrandt, Anna K.E., Juliana Ortiz, Thomas Ruff, Tal R and Thomas Schütte will be shown for the first time.
The Hildebrand collection is a large private collection of contemporary art permanently on view at the G2 Kunsthalle in changing installations. The collection focuses on contemporary painting from Leipzig represented through significant art works by established as well as by younger emerging names, including Henriette Grahnert, Paule Hammer, Katrin Heichel, Uwe Kowski, Rosa Loy, Jochen Plogsties, Neo Rauch, Christoph Ruckhäberle, David Schnell, Matthias Weischer and many other artists. A second substantial nucleus of the collection consists of national and international artistic movements, currently represented at the G2 by Daniel Richter, Thomas Ruff or Tomás Saraceno.
