Gülhatun Yıldırım will present her performance entitled “Water” for the second time in the new generation library of Zai Bodrum on 1 September 2018. The performance will be held with the support of The Art Department.
Curated by Simge Burhanoğlu, “Water” was first took place in İstanbul Pi Artworks in 2016 and now it will be adapted to the texture of the venue and will be presented again in the century old garden of Zai Bodrum. “Water” is the first performance that Performistanbul will present for the second time.
Relating to the expression on the face of the figure in John Everett Millais’ Ophelia, the performance presents the state of death, pre-sleep, out of consciousness and puts together an auto portrait. In addition to the performance, there will be an exhibition displaying the photographs of the performance.
Performistanbul, international performance art platform, keeps collaborating with international and local art institutions to support the production of its artists and to reach audiences both in Turkey and beyond.
