From New Perspectives: A new collective show of the best emerging abstract artists

About

Tom Barnett, Clem Crosby, Bobby Dowler, James Ferris, Ralph Hunter-Menzies, Mary Ramsden and Bayly Shelton Curated by Ralph Hunter-Menzies 24 year old Chelsea School of Art graduate Ralph Hunter-Menzies brings together seven abstract contemporary artists (all but two under 30) and curates a two floor exhibition of paintings in collaboration with Marcelle Joseph Projects. From New Perspectives juxtaposes paintings that depict forms and objects against works that exist independently as objects. Hunter-Menzies puts his own seductive and labour intensive paintings alongside five London-based rising stars (Mary Ramsden, Bobby Dowler, Tom Barnett, Bayly Shelton and James Ferris) and the enigmatic work of mid-career artist Clem Crosby. Crosby is recognised as being one of the UK's leading abstract painters. From New Perspectives is presented by Marcelle Joseph Projects. Founded in 2011, Marcelle Joseph Projects is a roving contemporary art projects company devoted to promoting contemporary art in different venues or found spaces across the United Kingdom. The core activity of this commercial venture is to showcase contemporary work of emerging to mid-career international artists who work in a variety of media. Marcelle Joseph Projects will mount five exhibitions in 2012.
