The workshop will be based on a traditional folk art from India called Warli Art. Warli art is a beautiful folk art of Maharashtra, traditionally created by the tribal women. The tribes are the Warli and Malkhar koli tribes found on the northern outskirts of Mumbai, in Western India. Warli paintings covered day-to-day activities of the village folks. The central motif in the paintings is surrounded by scenes portraying hunting, fishing and farming, festivals and dances, trees and animals. They used the interiors and exteriors of their houses as a canvas.
