‘The Willow Whale’ workshop has been designed for children and families to create something beautiful and playful together. We will be thinking about humans and animals, the environment and our interaction with the world around us.

About

Led by local artist and art teacher Jeremy Nelson, children, parents and guardians will work in teams in the centre’s garden and gallery. Using found objects as a starting point, groups will exercise their imaginations and sketch a creature (the whale!) which they will then sculpt using traditional willow weaving techniques. The workshop will create fun playground like environments, to be experienced from inside as well as out.
