Francesco Bonami will present "Post: the works of art in the age of social reproducibility” on May 31st in the Serralves Auditorium, in a conversation with Director of Serralves Museum, Philippe Vergne.

About

Once "post” referred to something looking backwards, i.e. postmodern; today "post” is the best way to describe our never ending present.

Social media changed our relationship with art. From being something to look at it became a backdrop for selfies or, in the best case our, companion for our selfies.

Pop Art turned in Populist Art. Pessimist? No, realist and from accepting the present without longing the past we can build a very interesting future for art.

This talk is organised in the context of the post-graduation course on Markets and Collections of Art, promoted by the School of Arts of the Catholic University of Portugal in partnership with Phillips and the Serralves Foundation.

A joint iniciative of Phillips and the School of Arts in partnership with the Serralves Foundation.
