About

Francesca Gavin's new book 100 New Artists charts the muddy waters of international contemporary art to bring together a collection of artists who are creating the aesthetics of the next decade. Embracing painting, sculpture, installation art, photography, performance work, collage, video and new technology, the book's artists range from Madrid to Athens, Los Angeles to Paris, Berlin to Sà £o Paulo. Gavin leads a conversation at the Saatchi Gallery with artists Sam Griffin, Graham Hudson and Lilah Fowler around how contemporary artists are responding to the now. Are we post conceptualism, post-minimalism, post pop? Or do artists working today deliberately avoid a sense of movement and collectivity that was previously branded together as an 'ism'? Each artists work will be explored and discussed within the framework of international contemporary artistic practice and alongside ideas of individualism and what the impact of contemporaneousness is upon modern art.
