Galleria Huuto (Helsinki) and the project space Scotty Enterprises (Berlin) are engaged in an artistic exchange, based on a process of translation of imagery.
About
Each artist constructs a work that references a work of one of the artists from the other gallery. Thus, on exhibit are the works resulting from this process of translating, interpreting and being inspired by images, ideas, themes, thoughts and notions.
The title ”Found in Translation” is a reference to the idiom ”Lost in Translation”. Replacing the word “Lost” with the “Found” we wish to embrace the idea of interacting with the unknown: the method of the exchange defies the concept of definite meanings and interpretations in artworks.
The counter exchange exhibition of this collaboration was shown from May 9 to 25, 2015 at Galleria Huuto in Helsinki. The artists participating in the exchange from Scotty Enterprises are Charlotte Bastian, Kiki Gebauer, Simone Häckel, Julia Krewani, Christine Niehoff, Claudia Schoemig, Karin Schroeder, Annette Sonnewend, Linda Weiss, Bettina Weiß and Juliane Zelwies.
