Curated by Turner Prize winner and renowned artist Lubaina Himid, CBE, Found Cities, Lost Objects invites us, through the works of female contemporary artists, to consider the experiences of women in the city.
About
With works from the Arts Council Collection and Southampton City Art Gallery’s collection, this collaborative exhibition encourages us to bring our own experiences of the urban environment. It acknowledges the privileges which allow some women to roam freely, while also considering the boundaries that may curb the experiences of others.
This is an exhibition which acknowledges conversations between audiences and artists at its heart, exchanging observations, memories and imaginings, to give us all a greater sense of self and consider our own relationships with the city.
Artists featured include Lisa Milroy, Magda Stawarska-Beavan, Elizabeth Wright, Cornelia Parker, susan pui san lok and Helen Cammock.
