About

‘Flanker’ sets to embody the varying definitions of an arts practice. Including the works of six contrasting artists from the same MA Fine Art course, the exhibition will offer individual ideas in a collective spirit. What is it to be on the flank, to flank, to be a flanker, to exist in the margins? Each artist in this exhibition works within the sidelines. Be it exploring contemporary ideas around gender and identity, giving a voice to the under dog, or by poking fun at the very institution of art itself, each artist works within the sidelines. They come together in this collective strategy to flank and challenge the wider sphere of accepted mainstream experience using sculpture, installation, drawing, and painting.
