Drop-in and draw with artists from the Royal Drawing School
About
Shoppers, drawers and pencil pushers, you are invited to draw in-store at Selfridges Oxford Street with young contemporary practising artists from the Royal Drawing School.
As part of the First Thursday programme run in collaboration with Time Out and Whitechapel Gallery, free drawing sessions will take place from 5.00–7.30pm on 3 March, 7 April, 5 May, 2 June, 7 July, 4 August, 1 September, 6 October, 3 November, and 1 December.
Drawing can be direct, incisive, intimate, surprising, funny or confrontational. Drawing offers many different benefits – from enhanced artistic expression to increased concentration and focus, and an ability to think and communicate in different ways. Everyone can draw.
So take a quick break from browsing and join us for free drop-in drawing on the shop floor at Selfridges. No need to book a place, just stop by, pick up a pencil, flex your visual muscles and see the store as you never have before…
Our pop-up drawing stations will be located on the Lower Ground Floor next to Harry Gordon’s Bar & Kitchen. One-on-one tuition comes from faculty of the Royal Drawing School and all materials are provided free of charge.
The Royal Drawing School offers day and evening drawing courses at our studios in Shoreditch and South Kensington, on the streets of London, in major galleries and museums, and now also at Selfridges. The courses are open to all levels and ages, and range from life drawing to graphic storytelling, printmaking and painting.
Draw life. Learn to see differently...
