About

Jane Burnley - Painter

My work is influenced by my rural surroundings, its patterns, shapes, colours and fall of light.  Colour is my main inspiration, whether it be subtle or otherwise. I usually use acrylics and do not plan a painting, but work intuitively, allowing the image to emerge and develop. I build up layers of paint, scratching through to colours underneath (oil pastel). This sgraffito technique is now an important part of my painting process.
I mainly paint small abstract landscapes, but also produce more spiritual work in which I try to convey a sense of peace and calm.

Ian George – Painter

Ian lives on the East Yorkshire Wolds where he walks and paints every day capturing the constantly changing light and atmospheric conditions. On a recent trip to Wuyishan in China he also observed similar conditions in a completely different environment where the huge cliffs and stacks created a dramatic backdrop in contrast to the rolling serenity of the Wolds.

Paolo Lazzerini – Painter

Paolo Lazzerini was born in Pietrasanta, a beautiful Tuscan town. He attended the Liceo Artistico, and graduated in painting from the Accademia delle Belli Arte di Carrara. From these early days he already distinguished himself in numerous competitions and exhibitions, where he captured the attention of art critics and art collectors. In the 70’s and 80’s he exhibits in cities like Forte Dei Marmi, Turin and Rome. (Accademia Di S.Cecillia). Also paintings were in permanent exhibition at Gallery 2000 in Tokyo.                    In the 90’s he was in various galleries in Germany, with Solo and Mixed exhibitions.                              Currently his paintings are in international galleries and many private collections. For years he has been active in the graphics sector, but still continuing painting and trying new and interesting techniques.

The things that unifies all Paolo Lazzerini’s painting is the capacity to communicate emotions, painting the landscape and the atmosphere of his land in a surreal manner, playing with extraordinary light, form and colour.

Janette Summerfield RBSA - SWA  - Painter

Janette takes inspiration from her love of the landscape, producing innovative, exciting and vibrant paintings. She works mainly in pastels and oils, but loves to explore other forms of media. Her work is in private collections in the UK, South Africa, and USA.

She was elected a member of the Society of Women Artists in 2009 and a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in 2010. She also serves on the committee of the Birmingham and Midlands Pastel Society.
