In her first solo exhibition Bristol based photographer, Macarena Costan uses surreal digital photography to confront the ‘The Malleus Maleficarum’, a book written in 1486 to identify and eradicate witches.

In her first solo exhibition Macarena Costan (@maka_iriek), Bristol based contemporary photographer and friend of Silver & Steel, uses surreal black and white photography to tell an intimate narrative of the witch hunts and trials of earlier centuries through a contemporary lens. Maka layers images that reflect expressions of human nature; telling a haunting narrative that is all too relevant today.
This flagship exhibition launches our gallery space for photography and runs from June 26th to September 15th. The Private View is on Saturday the 24th, there will be music and a small bar. We hope you can make it!
