About
We are excited to invite you to our upcoming event, 'Eye in the Sky', which is part of our final year project on BA Culture, Criticism and Curation at Central Saint Martins. We have collaborated with Harlesden High Street to showcase a thought-provoking installation from April 24-28, followed by an exciting live, interactive event on Saturday April 29th.
Our project aims to engage with themes that include relationships between surveillance and marginalised communities, technological racism, privacy and identity, and the use of AI and facial recognition. 'Eye in the Sky' offers an opportunity to challenge preconceived notions and create new narratives around contemporary surveillance theories, which often assume that CCTV removes anonymity and deters crime.
The live element of the event on April 29th includes an artist talk, workshops, interactive digital art, music, and more - all curated to stimulate dialogue and engagement around this critical issue.
Our team is committed to addressing the pressing concerns about surveillance discourse and its implications on marginalised communities. By showcasing the ways in which surveillance cameras can be deployed as tools of intimidation, we seek to provoke thought-provoking conversations around the wider systems that they represent.
The event is open as an installation from April 24-28th, from 12-6, and as an interactive event on April 29th from 12:00-8:30pm. Admission is free, and tickets are available on Eventbrite.
We hope you can join us at 57 High Street, Harlesden, London, NW10 4NJ, to explore this critical issue with us.
Thank you in advance for your support in spreading the word about our event. Please feel free to share this message and any related materials with your network.
