About
Exquisite Corpse was developed in response to the isolation and mental wellbeing challenges experienced by participants during Covid- 19 lockdown as a way to keep people connected through collaborative creativity.
creativeShift CIC artist Beki Lines describes the process of making this collaborative work:
“You may have played the game Consequences with your friends and family; Exquisite Corpse works in the same way. Each participant started by drawing, painting or collaging a head and sent that back. Once we had received all the heads, they were covered with a ‘No Peeking’ sign on it and posted on to another participant. This continued for four rounds, concluding with the feet.”
The exhibition will be on show in the Light Studio at Arnolfini when we plan to reopen from 18 May. It is hoped the twelve participants will meet for the first time during this exhibition and can celebrate their beautiful work together.
This project was made possible through a successful joint application between creativeShift CIC and Fresh Arts to Arts Council England.
