'Exploring Colour' is a first solo exhibition by London-based Japanese Textile designer Anna Hashimoto. The collection of hand-woven textiles that shows the beauty of colour palette and unique patterns.
About
Anna Hashimoto is a textile designer specialised in weave. Her design philosophy is focused on creating highly crafted hand-woven art piece with an intricate and detailed techniques. She is passionate about developing a unique pattern and texture with rich colours and high-quality materials, aiming to make an art piece unlike anything anyone has seen before.
Natural dyeing is a key component of her work, with hand-dyed silk producing the vibrant, yet delicate tones of the colour palette. In addition to be a sustainable process, her work is symbolised by the beautiful range and quality of colour which natural materials can produce.
Born in Kochi, Japan, Anna grew up in a family trading in textiles for Kimono. She obtained a first class honours BA in Textile Design at Chelsea College of Arts.
