Evolving is Sarah Perkins’ first solo exhibition and will show Sarah’s journey as a professional animal
artist. Tracing her steps from an initial pet portrait commission back in May 2018, this then sparked her off onto a path of creativity and ultimately the launch of Sarah Perkins Art.

About

Sarah’s time is divided into her own creative work and portrait commissions. This is reflected in the exhibition with a flowing timeline of pet portraits, along with a display of evolving creations from wildlife to bugs and insects, to a fresh unseen, artistically challenging largest artwork to date. Sarah is a proud member of the Association of Animal Artists. She specialises in highly detailed, lively, colourful modern paintings with a unique style of painting using acrylic paints on canvas. The paint is used both densely and in washes of colour. Working from photographs, she creates a contemporary interpretation of her subjects. Her portraits are created on a commission basis by working closely with clients to create a bespoke work of art to treasure. Sarah’s animal art is her own creative works inspired by the variety and detail in nature itself. These original artworks are available as well as being reproduced into prints and homewares; available at local stores and galleries as well as her online store. She is also pleased to announce a relocation to a larger studio within Banks Mill in February which will enable her to deliver a series of training workshops to encourage other budding artists Sarah comments: “I’m so excited to show how I have embraced a new chapter in life. So much has been achieved in a relatively short time through determination and focus. I am certainly evolving as an artist.” You will have the opportunity to meet with Sarah to find out more about her journey and art at three events: opening event - Friday 6th March 5pm – 9pm. There will be drinks, nibbles and exhibition ‘walk-throughs’ as well as the opportunity to visit Sarah’s new studio. Meet the artist days on Sunday 8th March & Saturday 21st March both are open 10-3pm. The exhibition runs from 6 – 26 March and is open weekdays 10am-3pm.
