Tania Kovats’ new exhibition of sculptures and drawings explores the significance of our relationship with the world’s seas and oceans.

About

Taking inspiration from scientists James Lovelock’s Gaia theory—of the Earth as an interconnected super organism—Kovats reflects on water as the connective element on our blue planet.

Atlantic, Indian and Pacific are 3 large metal bowls which replicate the shape of the world’s largest oceans. Each bowl holds a saline solution that, due to evaporation, will transform the work over time.

In All the Seas, over 200 seas are represented, gathered by a network of volunteers across the globe.

Tide is a live digital drawing of the United Kingdom that tracks our seas’ tides in real time.
