screening of Estate face by patricia shrigley

About

ou are invited to a screening of Estate face by patricia shrigley at the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology, University College London on Tuesday 13 December 6 — 7.30pm. Estate face is a darkly humorous look at prevalent stereotypes of white working class women. Attached are two stills from the film: one inspired by a recent comment made at the Conservative Party Conference about 'stopping the working class breeding like pigeons' and the other by the television series Downton Abbey. The film will be playing on a loop throughout the evening. It is a response to the exhibition Typecast: Flinders Petrie and Francis Galton and assumptions around genetics and ‘types' of class and race in this centenary year of the death of Francis Galton.
