Kis’s new body of work invokes a nocturnal, post-apocalyptic atmosphere, and continues the artist’s central exploration of duality in technique and subject matter. The exhibition addresses themes of environmental devastation and violence that have resulted from the evolution of human technology and the exploitation of nature. His paintings fuse contrasting techniques, layering nostalgic, hyper realistic Post-Soviet motifs against traditional painterly landscapes.
