A new body of work by Swedish artist Emanuel Röhss being premiered in Sydney.
About
COMA is pleased to invite you to attend the opening of End Frames, a solo exhibition of new work by Swedish artist Emanuel Röhss, on Friday 30 June, 6-8pm.
This will be Röhss' first solo exhibition with COMA and we would love for you to join us on the opening night!
For End Frames Rohss has spent the past year working on a new series of paintings that will premiere in Sydney. Each work is a departure from the final frame in a set of carefully selected feature films, and comes to being as a fragmented memory, or impression, of that image.
The aim of this new body of work is to explore the liminal space where image and narrative cease to exist simultaneously. This group of paintings are produced in acrylic and pigments on Alumacorr in the aspect ratio 1.85:1, which is amongst the most common formats for cinematic presentation of film. Their installation will be configured in relation to the features of the gallery space and the idea of chapters, or sequences of scenes; a beginning, middle and end of the presentation.
