Residency: August 19th to September 14th 2013 Exhibition: September 17th to September 28th 2013 Surface Gallery is delighted to present the fifth annual East Midlands Graduate Project: EM13. This year eight of the best Fine Art graduates from Universities across the East Midlands will be invited to inhabit the Surface Gallery space and create a new body of work, and will develop a two week-exhibition to present the results of the residency project to the public. The East Midlands Graduate Project was developed by Surface Gallery volunteers with the aim of supporting talented new graduates as they make the transition from university into the professional art world. As this will be the fifth East Midlands Graduate Project, EM13 will see an increased focus on education and development opportunities for the selected artists, with more engagement, participation and critical exchange with Surface Gallery volunteers and artists.
