Eileen Simpson and Ben White present a selection of recent projects undertaken under the platform Open Music Archive — an initiative to source, digitise and distribute out-of-copyright sound recordings and a vehicle for collaborations exploring archive material and its potential for reuse. In discussion with Anna Colin, the focus of the talk will be further directed towards Struggle in Jerash, the work shown in the exhibition. They will address the process and politics of reanimating archive material which persists across all of their projects, their investigations into availability of public domain material, and the adaptation of their artistic methods and approaches in the context of Jordan.
