A Cure (or Dreaming Meat)
12 Jul 2015
Jupiter Artland
Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Edwin Burdis has significantly contributed to the London art scene for over a decade with his performances, artworks and music collaborations. His work explores an unique and extravagant fusion between art, music and subcultural references, working with diverse media such as sculpture, painting, drawing and sound. His sound interventions act as a feature where the audience is permitted to draw their own connections. This will be integrated in to his forthcoming work at Jupiter Artland.
Burdis opens the season with installations in the Steadings Gallery along with sculptures set throughout the Steadings Courtyard and woodland area. With elements that include painting, sculpture and performance Burdis uses the setting at Jupiter Artland to create a cure centre in which his orchestrated act is played out through the elements surrounding the gallery building. Burdis’ cure centre is an environment in which he explore the treatment for cancerous diseases. The artist will stage several live performances throughout the duration of the exhibition. Alongside this the artist will exhibit a series of maquettes in the Tin Roof gallery.
